Types of Delivery

Normal (Vaginal) Delivery

The baby is delivered naturally through the birth canal.

Assisted Vaginal Delivery

• Used when the mother needs help during the final stage of labor.

Forceps Delivery: Gentle assistance using medical instruments.

Vacuum Delivery: A suction device helps guide the baby’s head.
Used for: Prolonged labor, weak contractions, or fetal distress.

Cesarean Section (C-Section)

• A surgical procedure where the baby is delivered through an incision in the abdomen and uterus.

Planned C-Section: Scheduled for medical reasons.

Emergency C-Section: Performed urgently due to complications.
Common Reasons: Placenta issues, fetal distress, breech position, multiple pregnancy, or previous C-section.

Water Birth

A calm, natural birthing experience in warm water that reduces pain and anxiety — offered in select hospitals.

Induced Labor

Labor is started artificially using medication when pregnancy extends beyond due date or poses health risks.

Preterm Delivery

Birth before 37 weeks caused by conditions like preeclampsia or premature rupture of membranes.
